**Winter Storm Warning for northern and eastern Siouxland through late Friday night**

**Winter Weather Advisory for central Siouxland through late Friday night**

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Our winter storm system has arrived in Siouxland and is already bringing some snow to northwest Iowa along with a mix of precipitation elsewhere to start the day.

Later this morning, we will all transition to snow and that snow looks to continue through the rest of the day.

It could be heavy at times in portions of northwest Iowa where the totals look to end up in the 6 to 10-inch range by the time it ends tonight.

There should be a sharp cutoff in those higher amounts near I-29.

The morning mix and the snow through the day will likely result in some slippery roadways.

In addition, the wind will pick up this evening and could result in some areas of blowing snow, especially in eastern Siouxland where the higher totals end up.

The wind will gradually decrease through the day Saturday.

More on the storm system and how the weekend looks on News 4 through the day.
