Train cars derail in Sac County, IA

SAC COUNTY, Iowa (KTIV) - Four to five train cars derailed on Monday, June 8, in Northwest Iowa’s Sac County.

According to the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, the derailment happened east of Odebolt, on Ira Avenue between 340th and 350th streets.

The cause of the derailment is not yet known.

The derailed cars are not leaking, and there is no hazardous material concern at this time, the sheriff’s office said.

Fire and sheriff’s crews are on the scene.
