Lake Park Heritage Museum to host benefit honoring Lake Park car enthusiast

LAKE PARK, Iowa (KTIV) - A car show is expected to take place in Lake View, Iowa to honor a lifelong resident.

The Classic Car Cruise and Contest will be on Sept. 19th outside the Lake Park Heritage Museum and will honor Rodney Stoltenberg, a lifelong Lake View resident, according to event organizers.

“Rodney was a lifelong Lake Park resident and an enthusiast of just anything with wheels,” said organizers.

The organizers also say the event will be a family event and to remember the golden rule of car shows: “Please look, but don’t touch.”

All proceeds will benefit the Lake Park Heritage Museum, the National Kidney Foundation and the Iowa Donor Network. Organizers say the Lake Park Heritage Museum will have the depot and museum open for tours.

The car show will showcase many vehicles, including Stoltenberg’s collection, which includes a 1979 Malibu drag car, a 1979 Dodge Lil Red Express, a 1971 Dodge Charger and a 1970 440 Road Runner Superbird clone.

There will be a free-will donation lunch and live music. Details will be finalized later.
