Amber Salas

Amber Salas joined KTIV in January 2022 as a Sports/Multi-Multimedia Journalist. She was born and raised in San Clemente, CA, and left for the first time to begin her reporting career in Sioux City.

Amber recently graduated from San Diego State University in May 2021 with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Television, Film & New Media. During her time in college, Amber worked as a sports reporter for her school’s media outlet, The Daily Aztec. Amber covered several San Diego State teams such as football, basketball, and men’s & women’s soccer. Her favorite memory was traveling to the 2021 NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis to cover San Diego State’s run.

She also had two internships throughout her college experience. In Spring 2020, she interned with NBC 7 San Diego as a news intern, and she interned with FOX Sports in Spring 2021 as an assignment desk intern. Aside from her reporting experience, Amber was also a four-year member of the SDSU cheer team.

Amber is excited to be here and looks forward to sharing the important stories of Siouxland. In her free time, she loves meeting new people, traveling, exploring new places, baking and of course, watching sports.
