Digital Content Manager
Kim Fickett is an award-winning journalist with over 20 years of experience in print journalism. Throughout her career, she has worked in Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa. Kim joined the KTIV team in September of 2022 as its digital content manager.
Kim Fickett is a native of Early, Iowa and first fell in love with journalism during her high school newspaper/yearbook class. It was that single class that set her on a path to a 20-plus-year journalism career.
Following high school, she attended Briar Cliff College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Writing. From there she began her career as a news reporter for the Ponca, Nebraska newspaper. Over the years she has worked at newspaper publications in various capacities across Nebraska, South Dakota, Missouri and Iowa. Most recently she served as the editor of the Le Mars Sentinel where she returned the publication to an award-winning newspaper.
Kim has earned multiple South Dakota Newspaper Association and Iowa Newspaper Association awards including those for Best Headline Writing, Best Use of Graphics, Best News Story, Best Photo Story and more.
Kim joined the KTIV team in September of 2022 as its digital content manager.
She takes great pride in her daughters and has been their number one fan as a dance mom. Kim and her husband, Terry, have been blessed with two daughters, Bella and Kensi. The family are avid Kansas City Chiefs fans, enjoy spending time with their family and close friends, and travels as much as possible.
