Sheriff: The man shot in Battle Creek, IA has died

BATTLE CREEK, Iowa (KTIV) - Authorities have confirmed to KTIV that the man shot last week in the Northwest Iowa town of Battle Creek has died.

Ida County Sheriff Wade Harriman says 53-year-old Kevin Blume has died after being shot on Friday, May 24. At this time, Sheriff Harriman says no charges have been filed for this shooting.

The shooting was reported at about 11:15 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of 5th Street in Battle Creek. When authorities got there they found Blume with a single gunshot wound and he was taken to a Sioux City hospital. According to Blume’s obituary, he died on Tuesday, May 28 at MercyOne Siouxland Regional Medical Center.

Authorities have not released any other details on the shooting.
